Make a Blue Light NutraSmoothie
Sometimes, your eyes just need a break. Whether it’s from staring at your computer or some other digital screen, our always-on digital world is a stress on our eyes.
Screen time can contribute to eye strain and dry eye symptoms. Eye doctors recommend
following the 20-20-20 rule during computer and screen use: every 20 minutes, shift your focus to something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Adjusting the screen lighting to minimize glare and limiting their screen time can help.
A diet rich in the nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin can help protect eyes by shielding and filtering blue light. So the Blue Light NutraSmoothie recipe is loaded with lutein- and zeaxanthin-rich fruits and veggies.
LUTEIN AND ZEAXANTHIN: Both are important to ocular health and supporting the eye’s macula. As we age, our metabolism slows, so the dietary intake of micronutrients is reduced. At the same time, the ability to absorb and make use of nutrients is also diminished. So it’s a double whammy: the eyes are losing these nutrients and antioxidants at a time when they’re really important.

A multivitamin alone is not going to deliver enough of these key ingredients; look for specially formulated vitamins, such as Ocuvite Blue Light, with its high levels of both nutrients – 25 milligrams of lutein and 5 milligrams of zeaxanthin.
