Finding Your Motivation – Dr. Shen Lee

Bridgitte Shen Lee, OD: “One of my mentors, Frank Cottone, OD, had this sculpture on his desk for decades, and he gifted it to me when he retired. It says, ‘We are what we think; we get what we expect.’

“His encouragement to work hard and push myself, yet also be a ‘sparkle of light,’ has been a motivation to help me dare to dream big
dreams and go after them. “It’s also important to remember that none of us is alone. A quote from Edward Everett Hale also encourages
me. ‘I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. By the Grace of God, I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.’”
