Jillian Scarpanito, OD, of Hopatcong, New Jersey, looks forward to starting full-time work at a private practice in Rhode Island shortly after graduation.

New England College of Optometry

Kaylee Brann, OD, one of six top grads from NECO
Dr. Brann
Kaylee Brann, OD, of Benton, Maine, will return to Maine to join a private practice in a city close to her home. She looks forward to serving those in the community around her.

Sarah Curtin, OD, one of six top grads from NECO
Dr. Curtin
Sarah Curtin, OD, of Strafford, New Hampshire, plans to work for Warby Parker as part of its student scholars program.

Dr. Kylie Donahue, one of the six top grads at NECO in the northeast
Dr. Donahue
Kylie Donahue, OD, of Middleton, Massachusetts, will complete an ocular disease and surgical co-management residency at Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, Virginia.

Dr. Bonnie Loh, one of the six top grads at NECO in the northeast
Dr. Loh
Bonnie Loh, OD, of Charlotte, North Carolina, will begin an ocular disease residency at the W.G. Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina, in July 2024.

Zach Turple, OD, of Comox, British Columbia, Canada, will move to New York City to complete an ocular disease residency at SUNY College of Optometry.

Zamaan Valani, OD, one of the six top grads at NECO in the northeast
Dr. Valani
Zamaan Valani, OD, of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, plans to return home to Alberta and start his career in a medical-based private practice.

Salus

Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry

Class of 2024 (Traditional): 138 graduates (103 women, 35 men); Class of 2024 (Accelerated Scholars): 14 graduates (7 women, 7 men)

Aaron Rydzynski, one of two top graduates from PCO in the northeast
Dr. Rydzynski
Aaron Rydzynski, OD, of Buffalo, New York, graduated at the top of the class from the  Accelerated Scholars Program. He will move to Owego, New York, with his wife and practice with the Guthrie Clinic. He will split his time between Southern New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

Brandon Butters, OD, one of two top PCO grads in the northeast
Dr. Butters
Brandon Butters, OD, of Canton, Pennsylvania, was the top graduate from the Traditional Program. He says that he’s looking forward to spending time with friends and family. He will move to Meadville, Pennsylvania, in July to begin working for Crawford Eye Associates, a private practice he interned with during his fourth-year rotations.

State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry

Sakshi Vasiu, one of two top SUNY Optometry grads in the northeast
Dr. Vasiu
Sakshi Vasiu, OD, of Vestal, New York, will join the ocular disease and cornea/contact lenses residency program at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Gurleen Klair, OD, one of the top grads from SUNY Optometry
Dr. Klair
Gurleen Klair, OD, of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, will start a residency in ocular disease at SUNY/Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

 

University of Montreal

University of Montreal School of Optometry

Ann Fortin, OD, top grad from montreal optometry school
Dr. Fortin
Ann Fortin, OD, of Chibougamau, Quebec, Canada, will return to her hometown to practice at the Iris Clinic. This corporation is completely optometry-owned. She hopes to be involved in the decision-making of the clinic and have shares in the next two years.
