A special tip of the mortarboard to the top GPA earners at each of the schools

Arizona College of Optometry, Midwestern University: Michael Rosner, OD, of Martinez, California, is joining a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Illinois College of Optometry: Michael Gorz, OD, of Algoma, Wisconsin, will return to his hometown and join his parents John Gorz, OD, and Susan Gorz, OD, in their practice.

Indiana University School of Optometry: Alice Grasso, OD, of Muncie, Indiana, will begin a residency in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore VA this July.

Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry: Sophia La, OD, of Dallas, Texas, plans to work as an associate for a
private practice for a few years before venturing out with her own practice.

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University School of Optometry: Michael Franzone, OD, MPH, of Hillsboro, Oregon, will be completing a residency at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center.

Michigan College of Optometry, Ferris State University: Madeleine Hacker, OD, of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, will start an anterior segment disease and contact lenses residency program at Davis Duehr Dean in Madison, Wisconsin.

New England College of Optometry: Preeti Minhas, OD, of Kamloops, British Columbia, will move to New York to join a private practice.

Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry: Judson Cash Chevalier, OD, of Coahoma, Texas, will do a residency at Triad Eye Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry: Morgan Garman, OD, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, will begin working at Williams Lake Optometry in British Columbia in the fall.

Ohio State University College of Optometry: Kimberly Weisenberger, OD, of Columbus, Ohio, will complete a two-year
fellowship in cornea and contact lenses at the university.

Pacific University College of Optometry: Rebecca Chung, OD, of Vancouver, British Columbia, will complete a Medical Contact Lens Fellowship at OHSU Casey Eye Institute in Portland.

Rosenberg School of Optometry, University of the Incarnate Word: Carolyn B. Talbert, OD, of Wilmington, North Carolina,
plans to work in private practice.

Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry: (Accelerated Scholars Program) Kylie Ann Auman, OD, of Saint Mary’s, Pennsylvania, will be completing a residency in low vision rehabilitation at The Eye Institute of Salus University. (Traditional Program) Samantha Elizabeth Myers, OD, of Hilltown, Pennsylvania, will complete a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at The Eye Institute of Salus University.

Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University: Moena Dean, OD, of San Diego, California, has been offered a full-time position at an established private practice in La Jolla, California.

Southern College of Optometry: Elizabeth Fahy, OD, of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, will complete a residency in ocular disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then practice in a private practice or a medical based referral center. Alex Soliz, OD, of Longview, Texas, will complete her residency at the Memphis VA Hospital and then return to Texas to practice.

State University of New York College of Optometry (SUNY): Tristan Barrueco, OD, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, will begin a primary care/contact lens residency at the Salt Lake City VA and Moran Eye Center. Jennifer Nguyen, OD, of Cupertino, California, will be the ocular disease optometry resident at The Fromer Eye Centers in New York, New York, next year.

University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry: Albert Chen, OD, of Plano, Texas, will be serving in the U.S. Army
as an optometrist in South Korea.

University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry: Ciara Ashling McCaffrey, OD, of Sunnyvale, California, will complete a residency at SUNY Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation.

University of Houston College of Optometry: Ashley Lorraine Traylor, OD, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, will be working as an associate at a private practice in Loganville, Georgia.

University of Missouri, St. Louis, College of Optometry: Caitlyn Suzanne Reynolds, OD, of Brooklyn, Iowa, will complete
a pediatric optometry residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

University of Montreal School of Optometry: Danielle Richard, OD, of Richibouctou-Village, New Brunswick, plans to
practice in Quebec this summer and then settle down afterwards in two independent clinics in Montreal.

University of Waterloo School of Optometry: Phyllis Ho, OD, of Mississauga, Ontario, will practice in her hometown.

Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Optometry: Kiira Harrison, OD, of Honolulu, Hawaii, will be completing a
primary care and ocular disease residency at the Orlando VA.

The two newest North American colleges of optometry did not yet hold a commencement ceremony. University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Optometry will graduate its first class in 2020, and Midwestern University Chicago College of Optometry will graduate its first class in 2021.
