Eyecare Republic Partners With Sea2see Seastainable Eyewear

the ecr logoEyecare Republic (ECR), a nationwide network of independent optometrists, has announced a new partnership with Sea2see Seastainable Eyewear, a brand of sustainable luxury eyewear crafted entirely from recycled marine plastic.

This partnership brings Sea2see’s award-winning collection of sun and optical frames—handmade in Italy and certified Carbon Negative and B Corp—to ECR’s independent eye care practices across the U.S. The collaboration enables ECPs to meet growing consumer demand for eco-conscious eyewear that delivers both environmental impact and elevated design.

sea2see logo“We’re excited to partner with Eyecare Republic as a pioneering sustainable luxury eyewear  brand,” said François van den Abeele, Founder and CEO of Sea2see. “We look forward to sharing our vision of cleaner seas and ‘seastainable vision’ with ECR’s independent eye care network across the U.S. Eco-conscious consumers and ECPs now have access to a stylish, high-quality product that has a measurable positive impact on ocean preservation—one frame at a time. We’ve created an amazing tool of change, and everyone who wears Sea2see becomes an ambassador for our planet’s future.”

Founded in 2016, Sea2see frames are produced using UPSEA™ recycled marine plastic, collected in collaboration with the Sea2see Foundation and coastal fishing communities in West Africa, Spain and France. To date, the brand has helped remove nearly 500,000 pounds of marine plastic annually from coastal environments—turning ocean waste into eyewear.

“Sea2see represents exactly the kind of innovation that we look for in partnership to support our members” said Janice Dody, President and COO of Eyecare Republic. “Today’s patients want products that align with their values without compromising on style or quality. By bringing Sea2see  to our independent ECPs, we’re empowering them to offer eyewear that tells a powerful story—one of environmental responsibility and ocean conservation. This partnership strengthens our commitment to supporting brands that make a real difference, while giving our members a competitive edge in serving the growing community of eco-conscious consumers.”

This new alliance empowers independent optometrists to offer a luxury eyewear brand that aligns with modern sustainability values, creating stronger emotional connections between practices and their patients while contributing tangibly to ocean conservation.
