POP-UP POLL: What’s in a Name? – RESULTS

This week’s WO Pop-up Poll suggests that ODs are selecting practice names that neither reflect their own name nor their community name. In fact, just 30.3 percent of respondents said they named the practice including their own name, and 22.7 percent said they used some neighborhood or community marker in selecting the name. Nearly 38 percent said their practice name does not reflect either of those choices or a network or corporate affiliation.

The poll also found that almost 32 percent who said their practice had been named for a lead or founding OD were going to or had already changed the name. Another 39 percent said that they might change it.
