Amanda Mireles, OD, always had a love for writing. So when her daughter Penny asked for a book for her fifth birthday, she picked up her pen again and created a series of books with Penny’s help.

“Penny is involved in every step of the process,” Dr. Mireles says. “She’s a great litmus test—if an idea doesn’t interest her, it probably won’t interest other kids either.”
