Jennifer Burke, OD, opened her office on Sunday, March 8, for a special occasion: to celebrate International Women’s Day by hosting her second annual Boss Lady Benefit. Dr. Burke welcomed 60 attendees into her practice to raise funds for the Las Vegas SafeNest organization, which provides services to women and children in need in Southern Nevada.
The event featured light brunch bites, mimosas, raffle prizes and a silent auction. “This year, we added a donation-only Lash Bar where a makeup artist applied fake lashes,” Dr. Burke says.
Another new addition was a keynote speaker. Mrs. Nevada 2020 Amanda Klein addressed her platform, called Smart Barbie, as an advocate for women leadership in the community. Klein was awarded the “Boss Lady of the Year” award at the event.
The official fundraising total is still being tallied, and Dr. Burke appreciates the continued support from the lady bosses in her community. Read about her inaugural benefit from 2019.
