Faye Gamboa, OD, shadowed Casey L. Hogan, OD, FAAO, FSLS, during an Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) private practice internship. Dr. Gamboa enjoyed the experience so much that she became a tech/assistant in Dr. Hogan’s practice. Once Dr. Gamboa graduated from ICO, she worked there as an associate OD.
The experience inspired Dr. Gamboa to step forward with her dreams of opening her own practice, Wanderlust Eyecare. “She gave me enough guidance and support to open a private practice on my own without consultants,” Dr. Gamboa says. “To this day, she pushes the limit. Dr. Hogan owns Advanced Eyecare Professionals and recently acquired another medically-driven practice while still managing to become an AAO Diplomat in the last year. She is amazing.”
