Dr. Jacqueline Byrd

Jacqueline Byrd, OD, taught herself how to embroider a few years ago to make shirts for her own kids. In February 2024, she decided to turn her hobby into a business and opened Stitch Kids Co. Dr. Byrd—who is also an owner and optometrist at Missouri Eye Consultants, a multi-location, private practice in the Columbia, Missouri area—does most of her embroidery in the evenings after the kids go to bed.

All of the items in the shop are hand embroidered, and she enjoys taking on custom orders. She encourages shoppers to reach out with a message. “We can brainstorm exactly what you’re looking for together!”

Her favorite items in the shop are the crewnecks with felt names. She plans to add adult sizes soon and will be adding the practice name to them for the staff to wear in the colder months.
