Stephanie Woo, OD, FAAO, FSLS, was honored the Gas Permeable Lens Practitioner of the Year Award by the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI).

 

Christine Wiles Sindt, OD, FAAO, was honored the Creative Design and Process Award by the GPLI.

 

The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) announced its 2022 OWA honorees:

Jennifer Stewart, OD, Chief Vision Officer for Performance 20/20, was honored with the Emerging Leader Award.
Katie Lauver, Vice President of Business Relations for GPN Technologies, was also honored with the Emerging Leader Award.
Erinn Morgan, Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Director of Eyecare Business magazine, was honored with the Pleiades Award.
Laura Dorris, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Strategic Sales for HEA+PECAA, was honored with the
Pyxis Award.

 

Two optometry students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Optometry were elected leaders of the National Optometric Student Association.

Kierra Goins, fourth-year optometry student, was elected recording secretary.
Daniele Ewert, third-year optometry student, was elected treasurer.

 

Darian Travis, third-year optometry student at University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Optometry was awarded the Dr. Will Kelley Memorial Scholarship.
