The Illinois Optometric Association honored several women ODs:

Mary Lou French, OD, of Orland Park, was awarded as Optometrist of the Year.
Brigette Colley, OD, of Macomb, was awarded as Young OD of the Year.
Caitlyn McHugh, OD, of Buffalo Grove, was awarded as the Tom Lawless Keyperson of the Year

 

The Ohio Optometric Association awarded several women ODs:

Elizabeth Muckley, OD, of Kent, was honored as Optometrist of the Year
Katherine Fisher, OD, of Middletown, was honored as Young Optometrist of the Year.

 

The Alabama Optometric Association honored Gussie Branch, OD, as Young Optometrist of the Year.

 

The New York State Optometric Association honored Saysha Blazier, OD, FAAO, of Staten Island, as Young OD of the Year.

 

Bina J. Patel, OD, FAAO, faculty at New England College of Optometry, is this year’s recipient of the AO-Essilor Award for Outstanding International Contributions to Optometry.

 

Monica Jong, PhD, BOptom, has been appointed to Global Professional Education Lead, Myopia at Johnson & Johnson Vision.

 

Melissa Barnett, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA, presented the Thomas H. Peters Memorial Lecture at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. Melissa Barnett, OD, FAAO, FSLS

 

Lindsey Hardy, OD, FAAO, was promoted to chief of optometry at the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Louisville, Kentucky

 

Hannah Cho, OD, received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from  Southern California College of Optometry.

 

Marsha Zaman, third-year optometry student in Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, was selected as the recipient of the Mr. Humberto Franquiz Realizing Potential Changing Lives Scholarship.
