The color palette that says “summer” spans a wide spectrum. Hot corals, oranges and intense blues and greens reflects the outdoors and seasonal growth. But subtler colors like grays and deeper blues and paler yellows and pinks evoke late evenings outdoors.
Here are four practices that, because of their location and style, say “summer living” to us.
Anika Ramolia, OD, opened Beacon Optometry in Carlsbad, California, in March 2024. The practice— just a short drive to the Pacific Ocean— follows an upscale coastal feel with ocean blues and bright whites throughout.
Rochelle Mota, OD, and her husband, Billy Hrncir, are entrepreneurs. They first opened a coffee shop in 2020 and then a wine bar in 2022. Their latest venture, Punto Focal, opened its doors in September 2023 in Laredo, Texas, as a coffee shop + optical.
Barb Horn, OD, first opened Beach Family Eye Care in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in July 2021. Since then, the practice has expanded quickly, but continues to bring the surf life indoors year-round.
Samantha Vavricek, OD, opened Visually Sound Optometry in Folsom, California, a few years back. After a remodel, the practice now features stunning windows and tile floors, keeping the space cool and bright.
