Nearly 800 children received new eyewear at the vision clinic.

The volunteers saw 821 patients and manufactured 726 pairs of eyeglasses on site. In addition, they ordered 22 pairs of eyewear to be made off-site and returned to the children.

The day was filled with heartwarming stories, such as this one.

Michael has been wearing eyeglasses since he was 4. His refractive error today is -19.00D. It is correctable to 20/60, but he is unstoppable. He is an artist, musician and aspiring fashion designer. His determination is evident in his plans to obtain his driver’s license as soon as he is eligible. Organizers of the Bakersfield event said that Michael’s intelligence and thoughtfulness were evident during his visit. He expressed sincere gratitude for our assistance and care.
