Two years after Kara Foster, OD, opened EyeCare for You in Apex, North Carolina, she made a bold decision. She determined that in order for the practice to be sustainable and enjoyable, she would drop insurance plans covering vision or medical services. She faced many skeptics, but now nearly eight years earlier, she believes that it could serve as a great model for women looking to exert more control over their work lives.
