Liza Amlani, principal and co-founder of Retail Strategy Group, suggests that all optical owners visit other retail stores for ideas on successful marketing. “I do store visits almost daily. If there’s a new store opening, I will go check it out. It’s important to see what the best of the best are doing.”
As more opticals and optometrists venture into the digital space for eyewear sales, look at those sellers, too, she suggests. “Amazon is great in terms of testing new ideas and new storefronts within the Amazon digital space. Looking at best in class and other categories outside of optical is really important.”
