Maria Richman, OD, was awarded the Scientific Achievement Award by the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians.

 

janette pepper Janette Pepper, OD, FCOVD, FAAO, was honored for her exceptional DEI work at the Memphis Business Journal’s Diversity in Business Awards.

 

Jillian Ziemanski, OD, MS, PhD, FAAO, and assistant professor, received the UAB 2023 President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

 

Terri Call, OD, was named the Alabama Optometric Association’s Educator of the Year.

 

Dana Shannon, OD, FAAO, created the Diversifying Optometry Program with support through the National Optometric Student Association.

 

Optical Women’s Association 2024 OWA Award Honorees
Rebecca Giefer, CEO of Modo Eyewear, will receive the Pleiades Award, recognizing her exceptional dedication and support in advancing the leadership role of women in the optical industry.
Trudi Charest, president of Total Focus Consulting and co-founder of Marketing4ECPs, will be the Pyxis Award honoree, acknowledging her service and commitment to growing the OWA and promoting it throughout the optical industry.
Reagan Colpitts, senior business development manager at Safilo, will receive the Emerging Leader Award, given to rising stars within the optical industry who display exemplary leadership qualities.
Marge Axelrad, senior vice president and editorial director for Vision Monday/VMAIL as part of the Jobson Optical Group and founding OWA member, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
